This weekend, we embarked on an unforgettable adventure—my fiancée’s first time snowboarding at Steven’s Pass, WA. The day was filled with excitement, a touch of nervousness, and plenty of laughs as we embraced the challenge together.

We started off the morning with a Level 1 lesson to cover the basics. The instructors were patient and made sure everyone felt comfortable learning how to balance, glide, and stop on the board. Watching my fiancée take her first steps (or slides!) was such a proud moment—it was amazing to see her determination and courage as she tackled this new challenge head-on.
After the lesson, we decided it was time to refuel. We grabbed a beer, shared some hearty mountain food, and took in the breathtaking views of the snow-covered peaks around us. It was the perfect way to recharge before diving back into the slopes.
In the afternoon, we made our way to the beginner area, where the magic carpet carried us to the top of the gentle slope. This was where the real fun began. We spent hours practicing turns and stops, celebrating every successful glide and laughing off every fall. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the lights came on, the snowy landscape transformed into something magical. We kept going well past sunset, soaking in every moment of this incredible experience.
By the time we finally called it a day, we were both exhausted but exhilarated. We made the drive home, where a pot of hearty soup was waiting for us—a comforting end to an adventure-filled day.
Watching my fiancée experience snowboarding for the first time reminded me how special it is to try new things together. It’s not just about learning a skill; it’s about creating memories, supporting each other, and finding joy in the little victories.

Here’s to more adventures on the slopes and beyond!
